The aims or goals of Tai-Chi are :

2. The calm and appropriate use of our mind, blending the logical, intuitive and focusing powers to bring about a more creative mind.

3. The active and harmonious balance of body and mind and the increase of energy this brings about.

The steps to achieve these goals are the learning and understanding of the following aspects :

1. Health exercises or Chi-Kung, which are divided into sets, allowing the person to highlight one area or aspect at a time.

2. The use of various types of relaxation and meditation to access and improve the persons focus, awareness and individual talents.

3. The learning of a sequence of Tai-Chi movements, based on martial arts, called a form. This form is used to integrate and use all of the above in a relaxed flowing way.

In summary Tai-Chi allows the person to discover and use various skills and qualities and polish existing skills one may have in a way which builds awareness and confidence in a balanced way. All students are encouraged to practice at their own pace and are given as much choice as possible to follow their own interests and enjoyment.
